팝 역사상 가장 화려했던 6년을 보낸 전설적 듀오 WHAM!의 마지막 앨범 The Final (1986년 作)

1981년 영국 런던에서 결성, 데뷔 앨범 Fantastic (1983)을 시작으로 본 앨범이 발표된 1986년까지 그리 길지 않은 기간 활동했으나 현재까지도 역대 최고의 팝 듀오 중 하나로 인정받인 WHAM!의 공식 3집이자 마지막 앨범 The Final! (1986)

총 14곡이 수록되어 있는 본 앨범은 영국에서 1986년 5월 31일에 발매되었으나, 미국 등 북미에서는 당시 발매되지 않았다. 대신 한달여 뒤인 7월 1일에 "Music from the Edge of Heaven"이라는 타이틀로 8곡이 수록된 다른 앨범이 대체, 발매되었다.
본 앨범은 다소 특이한 구성으로 이루어져 있는데, 전반부에 위치한 "Club Tropicana", "Wake Me up Before You Go-Go", "Careless Whisper", "Freedom" 등 7곡은 기존 1, 2집에 수록된 히트곡들이고, 중후반부에 위치한 "Edge of Heaven", "Last Christmas", "I'm Your Man", "A Different Corner", "Where Did Your Heart Go-" 등 나머지 절반의 트랙들은 싱글로 발매된 신곡 또는 리믹스 버전이다. 따라서 순수한 정규 앨범이라고 보기에는 다소 무리라고 보는 경우도 있다. 하지만 모든 트랙들이 WHAM!의 정수를 모은 베스트 앨범으로서 손색 없는 것만은 사실이다.
