유쾌상쾌통쾌한 인기 록밴드 Weezer의 통산 6번째 정규 앨범이자, 밴드명을 그대로 이용한 세번째 작품으로 앞선 Blue, Green 앨범과 구분되는 Red 앨범이라는 별칭으로 불리운다. 성공적이었던 전작 Make Believe의 이후 꽤 오랜만인 3년만의 신작으로 앨범차트 상위권에 오르며 여전히 식지않은 인기를 과시하고 있다. 특히 유튜브 등을 통해 이미 폭발적인 조회수를 기록한 빅히트 싱글 "Pork and Beans"을 비롯해, 이보다 앞서 첫 싱글로 선택되었던 "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived (Variations on a Shaker Hymn)", "Dreamin'", "Troublemaker" 등이 싱글 커트되며 많은 사랑을 받고 있다. 이번 앨범의 프로듀싱에는 전작에 이어 거물 릭 루빈이 계속 참여했고, 거기에 최근 모던록계 가장 잘 나가는 프로듀서라 할 수 있는 Jackknife Lee가 참여해 밴드와 공동으로 작업했다. 또한 이번 앨범은 밴드로서는 처음으로 멤버 전원이 적어도 1곡 이상에서 리드 보컬을 시도한 최초이자 유일한 작품이기도 하다.
