트리비움의 5번째 정규 앨범이자 이들 최고 작품 중 하나로 평가 받는 명반 Shogun (2008년 作)

1999년 플로리다에서 결성되된 Trivium은 현재 메틀씬에서 메탈리카, 메가데스 등의 정통 스래시메틀의 계보를 이을 밴드로 손꼽히며 그 실력을 인정받고 있다. 메틀팬들로부터의 인기 또한 대단해 출세작인 2집 Ascendancy 이후 이들은 정통 메틀팬은 물론 2000년대 이후 메틀씬의 대세라 할 수 있는 NWOAHM씬에서도 각광을 받고 있다.
The Crusade 이후 2년만에 발표하는 이번 앨범 Shogun(쇼군, 將軍)은 인기 프로듀서 Nick Raskulinecz를 맞이해 제작, 2집에 이어 팬들은 물론 평단으로부터도 작품성을 인정받으며 밴드 최고의 작품으로 찬사를 받고 있다. 특히 요즘의 메틀 밴드들에게서는 찾아보기 어려운 12분에 달하는 대곡 Shogun은 앨범의 절정이라 할 수 있다.
한편 본 스페셜 에디션에는 아이언 메이든의 초창기곡인 Iron Maiden의 커버를 비롯해 3곡이 보너스트랙으로 추가되었으며, 앨범 제작과정이 담긴 다큐멘터리와 독특하게 이번 앨범의 수록곡들을 중심으로 기타/베이스 리프에 대한 강의 동영상이 수록된 보너스 DVD가 제공된다.
