Travis의 통산 두번째 싱글 16 Girls (1997)

국내에서도 높은 인기를 구가하고 있는 스코틀랜드 출신의 브릿팝 밴드 Travis의 데뷔 앨범 Good Feeling(1997)에 수록된 곡으로, "All I Want to Do Is Rock"에 이은 그들의 통산 2번째 싱글 16 Girls. 1집의 프로듀서이자 80-90년대 U2, 모리씨, 롤링 스톤즈부터 제이슨 므라즈, 킬러스, 비디아이, 포티 세컨즈 투 마스 등 수많은 명반을 제작하며 현재까지도 왕성한 활동을 하고 있는 스티브 릴리화이트가 프로듀싱을 담당했다.
첫 싱글 "All I Want to Do Is Rock"와 마찬가지로 트래비스의 초기 스타일을 반영하는 락킹한 스타일의 곡으로 기존의 발라드 트랙에만 익숙한 팬들에겐 색다른 맛을 선사할 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 초기 싱글이라는 가치 외에도 B 사이드에는 록넘버 "Hazy Shades Of Gold", "Good Time Girls" 및 "Good Feeling"의 기존 앨범 버젼과 다른 4 트랙 버젼까지 미발표곡 3곡이 수록되어 있어 일종의 EP로 봐도 무난할듯하다. 트래비스의 팬들에겐 상당히 소중한 싱글 중 하나라 할 수 있다.
참고로 싱글 커버 아트워크는 스톤 로지즈의 기타리스트이자 오래 전부터 미술에 상당한 조예가 깊은 존 스콰이어가 디자인한 서핑보드이며, 비치 보이스의 가사를 써놓은 것이라고 한다.
