천재들의 집합체. 폴리스의 커리어를 가장 완벽하게 정리한 더블 앤솔로지 앨범 (디지털 리마스터)

크림, 지미 헨드릭스 익스피리언스, 러쉬, 너바나 등과 함께 록 역사상 가장 위대한 3인조 밴드로 인정 받으며 여전히 사랑 받고 있는 밴드 The Police. 70년대 후반 비범했던 앨범 Outlandos D'Amour (1978)로 데뷔해 평단과 음악팬들 모두를 만족시키며 착실히 성장해 나갔던 그들은 1983년 5집 앨범이자 그들 최고의 앨범이라 불리우는 Synchronicity (1983)를 끝으로 1986년 과감히 해체를 선택하며 팬들을 충격에 빠뜨리기도 했다.
일반 대중들에게 폴리스는 "Roxanne", "Every Breath You Take", "Message In a Bottle", "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" 등 클래식 히트곡을 갖고 있는 인기 밴드 정도로 알려졌지만, 이들은 단순히 대중적인 록 밴드가 아니라 록은 물론 펑크, 레게, 블루스, 퓨전, 팝, 뉴웨이브(신스팝)에 이르기까지 장르를 초월해 창의적인 사운드와 연주를 들려줬기 때문에 장르적인 의미가 없을 정도로 시대를 한참이나 앞서갔던 밴드였다.
한편 본 앨범은 2007년 이들의 밴드 결성 30주년을 맞이해 한시적인 깜짝 재결합을 기념하기 위해 발매된 앨범으로 그들의 모든 공식 싱글들은 물론 마이너 히트곡들과 숨겨진 명곡들까지 폭넓게 수록되어 있다. 특히 본 영국에서만 독점 제작된 스페셜 에디션은 "The Bed's Too Big Without You" 등 2곡의 보너스 트랙이 추가되어 총 30곡이 수록되어 있다.
