사운드가든의 가장 초기 사운드를 확인할 수 있는 2장의 EP, Screaming Life과 Fopp

1987년 10월 Sub Pop을 통해 발매된 사운드가든의 역사적인 데뷔 EP인 Screaming Life와 이듬해 8월에 발매된 두번째 EP Fopp의 합본 형식으로 제작되어 1990년 5월에 정식 발매되었다. 각각 EP로는 꽤 많은 6곡과 4곡이 수록되어 있으며, 메이저 데뷔작인 2집 Louder Than Love (1989)까지 함께 했던 오리지널 멤버인 일본계 베이시스트 히로 야마모토가 참여하고 있다. 팬들사이에서는 상당히 알려진 "Swallow My Pride"는 사실 펄잼과 머드허니의 멤버들로 구성된 시애틀의 전설적 밴드인 그린 리버의1985년 Come On Down EP에 수록된 곡을 커버한 것으로, 그린 리버의 멤버이자 동료 밴드인 머드허니의 스티브 터너와 마크암이 함께 쓴 곡이다.

Screaming Life recorded in 1987 at Reciprocal Recording, Seattle.
Fopp recorded in 1988 at the Moore Theatre with the Dogfish Mobile Recording Unit.
Additional Mixing at Pace, Portland and Velvetone, Ellensburg.
