몇년전 조이 라몬스를 비롯한 주요 멤버들이 세상을 떠나며 많은 팬들과 후배 아티스트들의 마음을 아프게한 뉴욕 펑크의 전설, RAMONES의 방대한 역사를 네 시간여의 영상에 담은 최초의 DVD 세트, IT'S ALIVE 1974-1996. 데뷔시절인 1974년 언더그라운드 뮤직씬의 성지였던 CBGB에서의 라이브로부터 96년 아르헨티나 부에노스 아이레스에서의 공연까지... 70년대 올드펑크의 주요 설립자중 하나이자, 조이, 자니, 디디, 타미 등 유일한 생존자로서 자신들의 정체성을 잃지 않으며 활동해온 이들의 20년간의 역사는 그야말로 수많은 스타와 전설이 존재하는 50여년 록 역사에서도 유일무이하다고 할 수 있다. 본 DVD에는 Sheena is a Punk Rocker, I Wanna Be Sedated, Blitzkried Bop, Psycho Therapy, I Just Want to Have Something to Do, Teenage Lobotomy, Rock'n'Roll High School 등이 다양한 장르의 수많은 후배들(몇년전 키스, 메탈리카, 탐 웨이츠, 그린 데이, 오프스프링, 프리텐더스, U2, 레드핫 칠리페퍼스, 마릴린 맨슨, 롭 좀비 등 그야말로 어디에서도 볼 수 없었던 장르와 세대를 넘어선 초호화 뮤지션들이 참여한 이들의 헌정 앨범이 발매되기도했다. 물론 이들이외에도 건즈 앤 로지스, 머틀리 크루, 메가데스, 스키드로부터 펄잼, 가비지 등에 이르기까지 이들을 좋아하고 존경했던 밴드들은 나열하기 벅찰정도로 너무나 많다)이 재생산해낸 수많은 펑크록의 고전들이 직접 오리지널인 이들에 의해 전세계에서 연주되던 모습과 이들과의 인터뷰, 희귀 뮤직비디오 등 그들의 역사가 수록되어 있다.
