최근 10여년만에 재결합을 한 아메리칸 인디록씬의 전설 픽시스의 공연 DVD와 다큐멘터리가 소개되었다. 90년대 록씬의 청사진을 제시한 가장 대표적인 밴드, 픽시스는 동시대의 선구자들인 R.E.M.의 서정적 깊이와 통찰력과 소닉 유스의 실험성의 양면을 모두 발견할 수 있는 밴드로 평가된다.
본 공연은 제목처럼 세계적으로 유명한 로드아일랜드에서 거행된 Newport 포크 페스티벌에 참여했던 실황을 수록하고 있다. 셋리스트는 이제는 고전이 된 Where is My Mind-, Nimrod’s Song 등을 비롯해 Gigantic, Wave of Mutilation, Bone Machine, Ed is Dead 등 그들의 커리어를 보여주는 대표곡들이 두루 선택되어 있다. 특이한 점은 공연 전체가 어쿠스틱 버젼으로 되어 있다는 점으로, 이들의 새로운 면을 발견할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 보너스 피쳐로 제공되는 백스테이지의 영상에는 이들이 자신들이 기존의 유명한 곡들을 어쿠스틱 버젼으로 편곡 과정과 리허설하는 모습이 포함되어 있다.
