20세기를 떠나보내는 매닉스의 마지막 콘서트이자 2000년대 첫 콘서트

"20세기를 떠나보내며 (Leaving The 20th Century)"라는 제목이 말해주듯이 본 공연은 1999년 12월 31일 밤부터 2000년 1월 1일 사이에 매닉스의 고향인 영국 웨일즈의 Cardiff Millennium Stadium에서의 라이브 실황을 수록하고 있다. 본 공연은 매닉스의 결성 10주년을 자축하는 공연이기도하다. 그간 접하기 어려운 매닉스의 공식 라이브 DVD로 데뷔 앨범의 Motorcycle Emptiness, Motown Junk, Stay Beautiful, You Love Us부터 기타리스트 리치 제임스 없이 내놓았던 명반 Everything Must Go의 A Design For Life, Everything Must Go, 5집 This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours의 히트곡 Tsunami, If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next, The Everlasting, You Stole The Sun From My Heart 등에 이르기까지 이들의 거의 모든 히트곡들을 수록하고 있다는 점에서도 큰 의의가 있다. 또한 이들의 곡뿐 아니라 척베리, 비틀즈 등이 연주한 록앤롤의 고전인 Rock & Roll Music와 국내에서도 유명한 팝넘버 Can′t Take My Eyes Off You까지 커버하며 8만여명에 이르는 많은 관객들로부터 뜨거운 반응을 얻어낸다. 특히 본 공연의 마지막 곡인 A Design For Life는 새로운 천년을 축하하는 그 순간에 연주된 첫 곡으로 고향의 관객과 함께 하며 또한 인공위성을 통해 세계 곳곳에서 방영되기도 했다. 화질과 음질 역시 뛰어나기 때문에 매닉스의 팬들이라면 반드시 봐야할 공연 중 하나다.
