멤버 실종의 위기를 뛰어넘고 3인조로 만들어낸 매닉스 최고의 앨범 중 하나 Everything Must Go

기타리스트 리치 제임스가 실종, 사망한 것으로 알려지면서 3인조가 되어버린 매닉스... 그러나 그 결과는 Holy Bible에 버금가는 최고의 작품이자, 그해 발표된 최고의 앨범 중 하나라는 평을 얻으며 당당히 매닉스의 대표작 중 하나가 되었다. 너무나 유명한 A Design For Life를 비롯해 타이틀 곡 Everything Must Go, Kevin Carter, Australia 등 여러곡이 싱글로 히트를 기록했으며 그외에도 Enola/Alone 등 앨범 거의 모든 곡이 사랑을 받았다고 해도 과언이 아니라. 앨범의 분위기나 사운드는 전반적으로 초기의 펑크/하드록적인 요소에 90년대 중반 절정기를 치닫던 브릿팝/모던록적인 요소가 적절히 균형을 이루고 있어 좀더 폭넓고 젊은 세대들에게도 어필할 수 있었다. 하지만 무엇보다도 그들의 최대 장점인 멜로디 메이킹과 브릿팝 밴드들의 약점인 록적인 파워를 갖고 있다는 점이 본 앨범을 더욱 두드러지게 만들고 있다.
