90년대 이후 판테라와 함께 그루브 메탈씬을 대중화시키고 이끌어온 파이오니어 머쉰 헤드의 최신 앨범 Catharsis (CD+DVD Limited Edition, 2015년 풀 콘서트 DVD 포함)

2018년 1월말 "카타르시스(Catharsis)"라는 타이틀로 발매된 이번 앨범은 카리스마 넘치는 천재 뮤지션 로버트 플린이 이끄는 캘리포니아 오클랜드 출신의 헤비메틀 밴드 머쉰헤드의 통산 9번째 정규 앨범이다. 본 앨범은 "The More Things Change..." (1997) 앨범 이후 처음으로 오랜만에 모든 멤버들이 작곡에 참여한 것으로 알려져 있다. 한편 최근 본 앨범을 끝으로 2집부터 23년을 함께 해온 드러머 Dave McClain와 "Through the Ashes of Empires"(2003)부터 15년간 함께 한 기타리스트 Phil Demmel가 밴드를 탈퇴해 팬들의 아쉬움을 남기기도 했다.
