존 레넌이 공식적으로는 비틀즈의 멤버였던 마지막해 1970년 12월에 발표된 그의 첫번째 솔로 앨범 John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band . 런던의 애비로드 스튜디오에서 제작왼 본 앨범은 그의 아내인 오노 요코와 70년 발표한 Let It Be를 제작했던 Phil Spector가 공동으로 프로듀싱을 담당했다. 베이스, 드럼 등을 제외한 대부분의 악기와 보컬은 존 레넌이 담당했으며 드럼에는 링고 스타가, God의 피아노에는 Get Back 등에서 함께 했던 Billy Preston이 참여했다. 앨범에는 대중적으로 가장 잘 알려진 Love를 비롯해 Mother, Working Class Hero, God 등이 수록되어 있으며 새롭게 리마스터/리이슈를 통해 명곡 Power To The People 을 포함 2곡의 보너스 트랙이 추가되었다.
