2000년대 개러지록 리바이벌 센세이션을 주도한 The Strokes의 두번째 정규 앨범이자 커리어 대표작 Room on Fire! (2003년 作)

데뷔 앨범 Is This It (2001)으로 평단과 록팬들의 극찬을 받으며 The White Stripes, The Hives, The Libertines 등과 함께 2000년대 초반을 개러지록 열풍으로 이끈 실력파 밴드 The Strokes의 2년만에 신작, Room on Fire. 11곡이 수록된 이번 앨범 보컬을 담당하고 있는 밴드의 리더인 Julian Casablancas가 공동 작곡인 Automatic을 제외하고 전곡을 작곡했다. 소포모어 징크스의 우려를 떨치고 차트에서도 영미 앨범차트 상위권에 오르며 이들의 높아진 위상을 실감했으며, 앨범에서는 "12:51", "Reptilia", "The End Has No End" 등의 멀티 싱글을 배출했다. 앨범의 완성도 각종 매체의 호평이 이어질 정도로 전작에 버금가는 완성도로 반짝 스타가 아님을 증명했다. 2000년대 초반 개러지록의 수작으로 손색없는 작품이다.
