스톤 로지즈의 역사적인 셀프 타이틀 데뷔 앨범 The Stone Roses의 10주년 스페셜 에디션

더 이상의 설명이 구차하기만한 스톤 로지즈의 셀프타이틀 앨범 The Stone Roses. 1989년에 발표되었다는 것이 믿겨지지 않을 정도로 지금 들어도 이들의 사운드는 신선하게 느껴진다. 소위 댄서블한 리듬에 존 스콰이어의 센스넘치는 깔끔한 연주, 이안 브라운의 묘한 느낌의 보이스까지 이들이 들려준 소위 맨체스터 사운드는 90년대 모던록(특히 브릿팝씬)의 융성에 누구보다 결정적인 역할을 했다. 하지만 안타깝게도 레이블과의 마찰로 2집은 한참 뒤에서야 발매되었고 이렇다할 활동도 못한채 단 2장의 정규 앨범(그리고 해체 후 몇몇 컴필레이션 앨범)을 내놓고 스톤 로지즈의 역사는 막을 내려버리고 말았다. 다행히 이후 밴드의 주축 인물들인 이안 브라운과 존 스콰이어 등은 밴드 또는 솔로로 각자의 활동을 하며 현재까지도 영국을 중심으로 꾸준히 앨범을 내고 있다. 한번에 착 달라붙을지는 모르겠지만 감히 전곡이 명곡이라고 말할 수 있는 몇 안되는 앨범이다.
