70년대 후반부터 80년대초 해체전까지 시대를 풍미했던 폴리스가 발표한 여러 명반들 중 하나로 디지털 마스터링되어 디지팩에 담겨 재발매되었다. 데뷔 앨범 Outlandos d'Amour 이후 1년만인 1979년에 발표된 그들의 두번째 정규 앨범인 본 작품에서는 '백인의 레게(Reggatta de Blanc)'라는 앨범 타이틀답게 레게를 응용한 시도가 돋보이는 작품이다.
기본적으로 폴리스라는 밴드가 앤디 서머즈와 스팅, 스튜어드 코프랜드 등 탁월한 실력의 멤버들의 연주력 이외에도, 뉴웨이브와 펑크, 레게, 팝, 록, 재즈 등 다양한 시도를 주저하지 않는 실험성과 대중적인 감각을 동시에 갖춘 보기 드문 밴드라는 점을 생각해보면 이러한 시도는 그러한 변화 중 하나라고 볼 수 있다. 앨범에서는 타이틀곡 이외에도 Message in a Bottle, Deathwish, Bed's Too Big Without You, Bring on the Night, Walking on the Moon 등이 담겨 있으며, 대중적으로도 사랑을 받았다.
