1984년에 발표된 Stop Making Sense는 토킹 헤즈를 주인공으로 하는 조나단 드미가 감독한 동명의 다큐멘터리 영화 Stop Making Sense의 동명 사운드트랙이자 라이브 앨범이다. 원래 본 앨범이 발표되었던 당시는 9곡만이 수록되었다가 새롭게 리마스터링되어 재발매되며 영화에 수록되었던 거의 모든 곡을 손상없이 살려내며 16곡으로 대폭 늘어났다. 영화와 사운드 트랙은 그들의 전성기 시절 마지막 공연을 담고 있는데, 발매 당시 앨범은 9곡으로 상당히 편집됐었음에도 불구하고 당시 무려 118주간이나 앨범차트 200위권에 올라있을 정도로 장기간 많은 사랑을 받았다. 초창기 부터 토킹헤즈가 창조해낸 대표곡들을 충실히 수록하고 있어 사운드트랙 외에도 라이브 앨범으로서도 여러모로 의미가 있으며, 그들의 팬들에게는 더할 나위없는 선물이될만하다.
