The story of Oasis follows the day when Noel Gallagher first joined his brother Liam's band in Manchester in 1991, to their final tour in 2008, and finally the band's dissolution a year later. Filmmakers were given unprecedented access to the band, featuring previously unseen footage, and candid insights from the infamous Gallagher brothers. Filmmaker Mat Whitecross examines the history and meteoric rise of 1990's British rock group Oasis, including the volatile relationship between band members and brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher.

브릿팝의 황제 오아시스의 결성 당시의 잘 알려지지 않은 이야기부터 전성기 시절의 퍼포먼스, 인터뷰 등의 다양한 미공개 영상, 갤러거 형제의 악명 높았던 기행과 갈등, 그리고 예상되었지만 한편으로 갑작스러운 해체까지 화려했던 흥망성쇠를 제대로 다룬 다큐멘터리 영화 Supersonic. 기존에 제작된 Definitely Maybe가 데뷔 앨범의 제작과 활동 초기를 소개한 다큐멘터리, Lord Don't Slow Me Down가 그들의 후기 모습을 담은 투어 필름이었다면 본 다큐멘터리는 비틀즈 이후 가장 완벽했던 밴드의 모든 역사를 제대로 파고든 2시간여의 영상물이다. 극장 개봉까지 되며 해외에서는 이미 호평을 받은 작품으로 올드팬들에겐 오래 전 추억을, 신생팬들에게는 밴드의 역사를 알려주는 의미있는 기록이 될 것이다.
