천재 싱어송라이터 Morrissey, 솔로 커리어 대표 명반 Your Arsenal (1992년 作)

브릿팝의 본격적인 태동기였던 1992년에 발표된 Morrissey의 명반 Your Arsenal이 발매 22년만에 리마스터 디럭스 에디션으로 돌아왔다. 본 앨범은 브리티쉬 모던록의 선구자적 밴드 The Smiths의 매력적인 프론트맨 Morrissey의 대표작으로 이전의 지극히 영국적인 우울함과 섬세함, 그리고 거만함이라는 감성으로 대표되는 스미스 시절이나 모리시의 앨범들보다는 전체적으로 밝고 흥겨운 로커빌리적인 분위기가 충만하다. 그럼에도 불구하고 곡들은 상당히 멜로딕한 면이 살아있으며, 동시에 Morrissey 특유의 개성을 잘 살리고 있다. 이런 이유에서인지 본 앨범은 평론가들과 팬들의 지지 뿐 아니라, 영미 양쪽에서 그의 정규 앨범들 가운데 음악적, 대중적으로 가장 성공한 앨범이기도 하다. 유머러스하면서도 풍자적인 제목의 We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful, Seasick, Yet Still Docked, Glamourous Glue 등은 The Smiths 시절의 명곡에 전혀 뒤지지 않는다. Morrissey 혹은 브릿 모던록을 알고 싶은 사람들에겐 데뷔 앨범 Viva Hate, Bona Drag, 본 앨범의 다음 앨범인 Vauxhall and I 등과 함께 필청 음반이다. 본 디럭스 에디션은 처음으로 오리지널 앨범의 리마스터 음원으로 제작되었으며, 1991년 10월 31일 미국 캘리포니아에서 있었던 라이브 실황을 그대로 수록하고 있어 더욱 가치를 높여주고 있다.
