머쉰헤드의 통산 10번째 정규 앨범 Of Kingdom and Crown (2022)

Of Kingdom and Crown (또는 ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN)은 2022년 8월 말에 Nuclear Blast 레코드를 통해 발매된 헤비메틀 밴드 머쉰헤드의 10번째 정규 앨범이다. 머쉰헤드는 리더 Robb Flynn을 주축으로 1991년 결성되어 31년, 극찬을 받았던 명반 Burn My Eyes (1994)로 데뷔 후 28년을 맞이하는 베테랑 메틀 밴드이다.
Catharsis (2018) 이후 4년만에 공개된 이번 앨범에서는 몇가지 중요한 변화가 있었다. 우선 폴란드 출신으로 데스 메틀 밴드 Decapitated에서 활동했었으며 2019년에 정식으로 머신헤드에 가입한 기타리스트 바츠와프 키에우티카 (Wacław Kiełtyka)를 맞이해 제작한 첫 작품이기도 하다. 또한 이번 앨범은 정식 멤버로서의 드러머 없이 Navene Koperweis을 세션으로 고용해 레코딩한 것으로 알려졌다. 한편 이번 앨범은 밴드의 최초의 컨셉 앨범으로 황무지가 된 미래를 배경으로 Ares와 Eros라는 2명의 캐릭터를 중심으로 돌아가는 스토리를 갖고 있다. 이번 앨범은 팬들은 물론 전문지 및 평단으로부터도 다양성, 연주력 등에 있어 앞선 앨범들에 비해 더욱 발전하고 헤비해진 사운드로 머신헤드의 전성기 시절로 돌아갔다는 호평을 받고 있다.
