2005년 영국 록씬을 뒤집어 놓았던 데뷔 앨범 Whatever People Say I Am, That′s What I′m Not에 이어 이미 올해 최고의 개러지 록 앨범 중 하나로 극찬받고 있는 Arctic Monkeys의 두번째 앨범 Favourite Worst Nightmare!! 2년만에 발표한 신보는 좀더 공격적이고 자신감있는 사운드로 소포모어 징크스는 가볍게 넘겼을 뿐 아니라, 오히려 전작에 인색했던 평단으로부터도 더 좋은 반응을 얻고 있다. 또한 전작이 영국과 개러지 록팬들에게 집중된 것에 비해 이번 앨범은 발매와 함께 영국(앨범차트1위), 유럽(2위) 각지는 물론 미국 앨범차트(7위), 캐나다(4위), 호주(2위) 등 세계 시장 진출까지 성공적으로 이루어지고 있다는 소식이다. 첫번째 싱글 Brianstorm은 그런 그들의 진보된 사운드를 보여주는 멋진 곡이며, 이후 Teddy Picker, Fluorescent Adolescent 등이 연속적으로 싱글 커트되며 많은 사랑을 받았다.
