앤젤피쉬 출신의 여성 프론트맨 셜리 맨슨과 너바나의 Nevermind, 스매싱 펌킨스의 Gish, Siamese Dream, 소닉유스의 Dirty, L7의 Bricks are Heavy 등 90년대 초중반 여러 얼터너티브록 명반을 제작한 거물급 프로듀서인 부치 빅이 만들어낸 셀프타이틀 데뷔 앨범 Garbage(1995)의 기대 이상의 성공 이후 3년만의 앨범으로 데뷔 앨범에서 보여준 Garbage의 개성을 이어가면서 Version 2.0이라는 타이틀처럼 한단계 업그레이드된 사운드를 들려준다. Push It, When I Grow Up, I Think I'm Paranoid, Special, The Trick Is to Keep Breathing, You Look So Fine 등 앨범의 절반이 싱글 히트를 기록할 정도로 최상급 트랙으로 가득차있다. 특히 셜리 맨슨은 소다수같은 상큼함부터 팜므파탈적인 섹시함까지 팔색조와 같은 자신의 매혹적인 보컬과 무대매너로 카리스마를 보여줬고, 부치빅의 프로듀싱은 지금 들어도 신선할 정도로 발군의 솜씨를 자랑한다.
