아메리칸 록의 전설, 이글즈의 데뷔 이후 모든 역사를 테마 별로 정리한 앤솔로지 앨범

1970년대초에 데뷔해 컨츄리 성향이 강했던 서든록으로 시작해 불후의 명반 Hotel California를 정점으로 미국을 넘어 전세계 음악팬들로부터 사랑을 받는 록 밴드로 거듭난 이글즈(Eagles)가 수십년이 넘는 자신들의 커리어를 총정리한 4장짜리 앤솔로지 박스셋을 발표했다. 70년대를 대표하는 록밴드에서 갑작스러운 해체, 그리고 1990년대 중반 극적 재결합 이후 탄생한 앨범 Hell Freezes Over로 엄청난 성공을 거두며 여전한 인기를 과시했다.
본 박스셋은 데뷔 앨범부터 본 앨범이 발매되기 전까지의 모든 커리어를 새롭게 리마스터링해 정리한 앤솔로지 박스셋이다. 물론 이글즈는 과거에 더블 앨범 형식의 베스트 앨범으로 엄청난 판매고를 기록했고, 이후 베스트 앨범을 다시 발표하기도 했지만 본 앨범의 선곡은 보다 넓은 범위를 커버하고 있는 점과 단순히 발매 순서가 아니라 각각의 디스크에 The Early Days (초기) - The Ballads (발라드) - The Fast Lane (추월차선) 등 3가지의 분위기/테마를 중심으로 구성되어 있다는 점에서 기존의 베스트 앨범과는 차이가 있다. 또한 마지막 디스크에는 돈 헨리의 솔로 시절 히트곡 "All She Wants To Do Is Dance", 조 월시의 솔로 시절 대표 명곡 "Funk 49"나 90년대초 존 본 조비도 리메이크 했던 찰스 브라운의 고전 "Please Come Home For Christmas"과 같은 커버곡들까지 포함된 밀레니엄 콘서트 라이브 실황이 보너스로 수록되어 있다.
