From Here to Eternity : Live는 1986년 The Clash의 공식 해체 이후 13년만인 1999년이 되서야 발매된 밴드의 첫 공식 라이브 음반이다. 앨범에는 펑크록의 대명사인 The Clash의 최전성기 시절이었던 1980년을 전후로하는 1978년부터 1982년까지의 영국 런던(1978-1980년 Lyceum Theatre, Victoria Park, Music Machine, Lewisham Odeon 등)과 미국의 뉴욕(1981-82년 Bonds International Casino, Shea Stadium) 및 보스턴(1982년 Orpheum Theatre) 등 3대 도시에서의 라이브 실황을 담고 있다. "Complete Control", "I Fought The Law", "London Calling", "Should I Stay Or Should I Go", "Train In Vain", "Know Your Rights", "The Magnificent Seven" 등 특정 시기에 올려있지 않은 선곡도 훌륭할 뿐만 아니라, 전성기 시절인만큼 그들의 넘치는 에너지를 고스란히 느낄 수 있다.
