핑크 플로이드의 첫 UK 앨범 차트 1위 앨범 Atom Heart Mother (1970)

핑크 플로이드의 5번째 정규 앨범으로 70년대를 여는 첫 작품이다. 1970년 2월부터 8월까지 애비 로드 스튜디오에서 레코딩되어 그해 10월 2일 EMI와 Harvest Records를 통해 발매(영국)되었으며, 밴드로서는 최초로 영국 앨범 차트 1위를 기록했다. 미국에서도 55위에 오르고 골드 레코드를 획득하는 등 비교적 좋은 반응을 얻었다. "Summer '68"이 유일하게 싱글로 커트되었으며, 6개의 파트로 구성되어 러닝 타임 24분에 육박하는 타이틀 곡 "Atom Heart Mother"는 70년대초 라이브로 즐겨 연주되었다. 독특한 커버 아트는 전작들과 마찬가지로 Hipgnosis의 작품이며, 참고로 커버에 밴드나 앨범 제목, 멤버들의 사진이 쓰여있지 않은 핑크 플로이드 최초의 앨범이다.
