2009년 6월 컴백 공연을 얼마남겨 놓지 않고 갑작스럽고도 의문에 둘러쌓인 안타까운 죽음으로 이제는 전세계 음악팬들에게는 전설로 남게 된 팝의 황제 마이클 잭슨. 그의 기다리고 기다리던 영국 런던 컴백 공연 준비를 중심으로 제작된 다큐멘터리 영화 THIS IS IT! MJ의 오랜만의 컴백 공연임에도 불구하고 순식간에 매진을 기록할 정도로 엄청난 기대를 모았던 이벤트이기도 했다. 다큐멘터리는 공연장인 O2 아레나에서 이루어진 마이클 잭슨의 철저한 준비 연습과 공연 제작에 헌신하는 모습을 비롯해, 다양한 미공개 영상 등 가장 최근의 모습이 수록되어 있어 그의 공연을 보지 못한 팬들의 궁금증을 풀 수 있을 듯하다.
