91년 플로리다에서 결성되어, 미국 출신으로는 드물게 유럽 스타일의 멜로디가 강조된 파워메틀 밴드 Kamelot의 2년만의 신보이자, 7번째 정규 앨범으로 파워메틀의 대표적 레이블인 SPV/Steamhammer을 통해 발표되었다. 괴테의 소설 파우스트에 가볍게 바탕을 둔 컨셉앨범으로 제작된 본 앨범은 유럽은 물론 국내, 일본, 북미에 이르기까지 전세계의 메틀팬들로부터 절대적인 인기를 얻고 있는 그들이 현재까지 발표한 앨범 중 가장 뛰어난 앨범 중 하나로 평가 받고 있다. 한편 본 앨범의 레코딩에는 Simone Simons(Epica), Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir), Jens Johansson (Stratovarius) 등의 쟁쟁한 게스트 뮤지션들이 참여해주었다.
